Asgar Ali Hospital receives approval to conduct Bone Marrow Transplants
As per regulations, the hospital must renew the authorisation annually through the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
Asgar Ali Hospital in Dhaka's Gendaria area has received official approval to conduct Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) procedures.
Adviser to Health and Family Welfare Ministry Noorjahan Begum handed over the permit at the Secretariat today (3 December).
CEO and Director of Asgar Ali Hospital Professor Dr Jabrul SM Haque received the approval letter on behalf of the institution. This marks the first time a private hospital in Bangladesh has been granted permission by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to conduct bone marrow transplants.
Special Assistant to the Health Minister Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, Health Services Division Secretary Md Saidur Rahman, and other ministry officials were present at the event.
The approval will remain valid for one year, effective from 1 December. As per regulations, the hospital must renew the authorisation annually through the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
