Abdus Salam appointed chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society
The government also announced the formation of an ad hoc managing board to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation's administrative activities.
The government has appointed Barrister Md Abdus Salam, an advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, as the chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.
According to a gazette notification issued today (20 June), the appointment will take effect from the date of joining and will remain valid for a period of three years.
The notification also announced the formation of an ad hoc managing board to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation's administrative activities. The board includes a vice-chairman, a treasurer and several members.
Members of the board include Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Kabir as treasurer, Dr Abu Md Mofakkharul Islam Rana, Prof Dr Syed Moinul Hasan Sadiq, Prof Dr Md Shahidur Rahman, Faruk Uddin Bhuiyan and Rafiqul Islam Sikder, among others.
The ad hoc managing board will remain in place for three months, according to the notification.
