Haven't resigned yet, says Adviser Nahid

Amid rumours of resignation from the advisory council of the interim government, Adviser Nahid Islam today (23 February) said he has not resigned yet.
"I haven't resigned yet. This is a rumour," Nahid told Prothom Alo this evening.
Nahid is currently the adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
He is likely to lead a new political party, formed by the Students Against Discrimination and the Jatiya Nagorik Committee, expected to be launched on 26 February.
Several student leaders had said Nahid will resign from the post of advisor to join the new political party.
Nahid himself had hinted at leaving govt role to join the new party.
"There are discussions about forming a new political party. If someone wishes to join, it is not possible by retaining a government role," Nahid said in an interview with a television channel on 15 February.
Nahid Islam, a coordinator of Students Against Discrimination and a student of Dhaka University, took oath as an adviser to the interim government on 8 August after the fall of Sheikh Hasina government in a mass uprising on 5 August.
