Awami League President and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina has been sued in two other murder cases over the killings of two people during the recent Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Narayanganj.

AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader, also ex-road transport and bridges minister, many other MPs and ministers have been accused in the cases filed with the Fatullah Police Station and Araihazar Police Station, Narayanganj District Police's Additional Superintendent (Administration) Amir Khasru told The Business Standard.

Hundreds others - named and unnamed - have also been accused in the cases filed on Thursday (22 August) noon.

In the meantime, Quader has also been sued in another murder case over the killing of  a bus driver in Faridpur during the movement.

According to the case statement filed with the Fatullah Police Station, Sohrab Mia, father of victim Faisal, who was shot dead on 19 July in Bhuighor area during the movement, accused 177 named people, including Hasina, Quader, former MP Shamim Osman, Golam Dastagir Gazi, and others.

Another 80 unnamed persons have also been accused.

According to the case statement filed with the Araihazar Police Station, Duptara union BNP Vice President Babul Mia was killed by unidentified persons in the Tatipara area while returning home from a protest programme. 

He was hacked and beaten to death.

Duptara Union BNP General Secretary Nurul Amin filed the case accusing Quader, ex-home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, ex-MP Shamim Osman and his son Ayon Osman, another 127 named and  another 150 unnamed people.

In Faridpur, Quader and another 300-4000 named and unnamed people have been accused in a case filed over the death of a bus driver Sachu Mollah.

The victim's wife Meghla Begum filed the case with the Kotwali Police Station, Officer in-Charge Md Hasanuzzaman confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
