Enhanced surveillance at Ctg airport amid rising global Covid-19 cases
The enhanced measures have been introduced under the directives of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the airport authority issuing five types of instructions to curb potential virus transmission

Authorities at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram have intensified surveillance at immigration and health desks following a fresh surge in Covid-19 infections in several countries, including neighbouring India.
The enhanced measures have been introduced under the directives of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the airport authority issuing five types of instructions to curb potential virus transmission.
The information was confirmed in a press release issued last night (8 June) by Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer of Shah Amanat International Airport.
According to the release, health screening equipment has been installed at the immigration entry point within the international arrivals area. Non-contact temperature checks are being carried out on incoming passengers using thermal scanners by the airport's medical team.
Wearing masks has been made mandatory at key locations across the terminal. Additionally, emergency stockpiles of masks and gloves have been secured for use by airport health personnel.
To raise public awareness and reduce the risk of contagion, health and safety guidelines are being widely disseminated among passengers, the press release added.
These measures form part of a broader strategy to ensure public safety in light of increasing global infection rates.
