Preliminary findings suggest Masud might have committed suicide due to family disputes, police say

The hanging dead body of a constable was found in a barrack toilet at the Rajshahi District Police Lines this morning (20 April).

The deceased was identified as Masud Rana, 34, who was stationed at the Jogipara Police Investigation Centre under Bagmara Police Station. 

Bagmara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Touhidul Islam said preliminary findings suggest Masud might have committed suicide due to family disputes.

According to police, Masud had recently been admitted to the Divisional Police Hospital for treatment and was staying in the police barracks. His body was discovered by fellow officers this morning.

The body was later sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy post-mortem examination.

Originally from Gurudaspur Upazila of Natore, Masud joined the Bangladesh Police on 15 August 2011.
