Govt vows credible elections, warns against sabotage: Adilur Rahman Khan

Adviser of LGRD and Cooperatives and Housing and Public Works Adilur Rahman Khan yesterday (27 December) said that the government is making all-out efforts to ensure citizens' safety and will take strict measures against any attempt to disrupt the upcoming election.
"Fascist forces may try to hinder the election, but the government, with the support of the people, will ensure a free, fair, and credible election. Those attempting to sabotage it will be firmly stopped," he said.
Adilur, also the adviser of the Ministry of Industries, made the remarks after paying respects at the graves of the July Uprising martyrs and offering tributes at the July Memorial in Madaripur.
Earlier, the adviser visited the graves of martyrs Naimur Rahman and Mamun at Mother Bazar, laid flowers at the July Memorial, and inspected the housing project and integrated waste management plant in Shibchar upazila.
Madaripur Deputy Commissioner, Md. Jahangir Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Al Noman, and other senior officials were present.
As part of his day-long programme, he is scheduled to meet families of martyrs, visit Shokuni Lake, hold discussions with the Legal Aid Association, inspect the District Shilpakala Academy, and meet the district core committee and judiciary ahead of the election.
