The government has increased the bi-annual allocation for uniforms to official vehicle drivers and technical staff by around Tk10,000. 

From now on, a male driver or technical staff will get Tk29,400 every two years while a female driver will get Tk29,000, respectively, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on 12 January.

Previously, a male driver used to get Tk19,850 for their summer and winter uniforms and a female driver Tk19150 under a circular issued on 22 April 2021.

Additionally, each male and female technical staff member will receive Tk36,400 for uniforms every two years. Previously, male technical employees were given Tk27,150 and female employees received Tk25,750 for uniforms.

According to the new circular, during summer, a male driver will need to dress with three sets of chocolate-coloured half-safaris, two caps, two pairs of black shoes, two pairs of black sandals, four pairs of black socks, one black umbrella, and a nameplate.

In winter, they will have to wear one set of chocolate-coloured full safari and one V-neck full-sleeved sweater.

Meanwhile, during summer, a female driver will need to wear three sets of chocolate-coloured half-safaris or three sets of three-piece attire, two pairs of leather shoes, two pairs of leather sandals, four pairs of socks, one ladies' umbrella, and one nameplate.

In winter, they will dress with one set of full safari or full-sleeved three-piece attire and one cardigan.
