Govt reshuffles 14 senior police officials
The reshuffle includes officers holding the ranks of DIG, additional DIG, police commissioner and superintendent of police.
The government has transferred and assigned new postings to 14 senior Bangladesh Police officials, including deputy inspectors general (DIGs), additional DIGs, commissioners and superintendents of police (SPs).
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued three separate notifications today (21 July), signed by Deputy Secretary Touhid Ahmed, stating that the transfers were made in the public interest and would take immediate effect.
According to the notifications, DIG of Mymensingh Range Md Ataul Kibria has been transferred as DIG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Mohammad Zahidul Hasan has been posted as DIG of Mymensingh Range.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner (DIG) Abdul Quddus Chowdhury has been appointed DIG of Chattogram Range, while Police Headquarters DIG Sarwar Murshed Shamim has been made the new police commissioner (DIG) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police.
Sharif Uddin Ahmed, superintendent of police of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (supernumerary additional DIG), has been posted as superintendent of police in the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Additional DIG (current charge) of Industrial Police Md Kafil Uddin has been transferred to Police Headquarters. Pabna Superintendent of Police Md Sufi Ullah has been appointed special superintendent of police at the CID, while Anti-Terrorism Unit Superintendent of Police Abu Ashaf has been posted as superintendent of police of Pabna.
Additional DIG of the Police Staff College Nasian Wazed has been attached to the office of the DIG of Rangpur Range. Mohammad Ashikur Rahman, superintendent of police (supernumerary additional DIG) serving in Rajshahi Range, has been attached to the office of the DIG of Khulna Range.
Additional DIG of Tourist Police Appel Mahmud has been attached to the office of the DIG of Rajshahi Range, while Police Headquarters Superintendent of Police AFM Nizam Uddin has been attached to the office of the DIG of Rangpur Range.
CID Superintendent of Police Mir Abu Touhid has been attached to the office of the DIG of Chattogram Range, and Special Superintendent of Police of the Special Branch in Dhaka Tasrif Masruk Hossain Masri has been attached to the office of the DIG of Rangpur Range.
The ministry also partially amended a notification issued on 18 June, cancelling the transfer order of CID Dhaka DIG Mia Masud Karim to the Armed Police Battalion's Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) wing.
