Govt not arresting Islamic scholars: State Minister

State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan on Thursday said the government is not arresting Islamic scholars in the name of arresting Hefazat-e-Islam leaders.
"We have not arrested the scholars (Alem), only those who carried out terrorism in the name of Islam have been arrested," he said while attending a discussion arranged by Bangladesh United Islami Party.
Faridul said the government is taking action against those who are the real culprits.

He added that those who post on Facebook saying the Islamic scholars have been arrested, are the enemy of Islam and the country.
