Govt moves to bring Sheikh Hasina back from India through legal process: Aminul
Sheikh Hasina took refuge in India after being ousted in the July Mass Uprising in 2024.
International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam today (17 August) said the government has taken necessary steps to bring ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was sentenced to death for crimes against humanity, back from India through the legal process.
"Our government has already applied to the Indian government to bring her back. The request for her extradition is a legal process, and the government has taken the necessary steps to bring her back through that process," he told newsmen this morning.
Sheikh Hasina took refuge in India after being ousted in the July Mass Uprising in 2024.
The International Crimes Tribunal sentenced her to death for crimes against humanity committed during the July 2024 Mass Uprising.
