Govt eases police verification for teachers' recruitment in non-govt institutions
The Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) will now send the VR (verification roll) forms — required for police verification — of the initially selected candidates directly to the Special Branch (SB) of the Police Headquarters
The government has simplified the police verification process for recruiting teachers in non-government educational institutions at the entry level.
According to a circular issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division today (9 July), the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) will now send the VR (verification roll) forms — required for police verification — of the initially selected candidates directly to the Special Branch (SB) of the Police Headquarters.
After conducting the verification, SB will send the report back to NTRCA.
Previously, as per a circular issued on 25 January, NTRCA was required to send the VR forms to the Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which would then coordinate with the SB for verification and return the reports.
The new method was adopted to reduce delays caused by the additional layer of bureaucracy in the earlier process, the circular added.
The circular also clarifies that if any of the initially selected candidates fail to submit their VR forms, they will not be considered for appointment recommendations.
