Govt definitely wants Hasina’s repatriation: Home Adviser
“We definitely want the repatriation of Sheikh Hasina. We have already sent a letter (to India). If required, we will again send a letter seeking her repatriation,” he said.
Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (17 November) said they want the repatriation of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
An International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today sentenced Sheikh Hasina and her cabinet colleague, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal, to death for crimes against humanity for ordering a crackdown to suppress last year's student-led July Uprising.
"We definitely want the repatriation of Sheikh Hasina. We have already sent a letter (to India). If required, we will again send a letter seeking her repatriation," he said.
The adviser made the remarks while replying to questions from journalists after coming out of a Core Committee meeting on law and order at the Home Ministry in the Secretariat here.
