Govt approves 10th-grade pay scale for primary school headmasters
Following this, the government has deemed it logical to implement the same decision nationwide.
The government has approved the upgrade of the pay scale for headmasters of government primary schools to the 10th grade.
The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued a press statement today (28 July) in this regard.
According to the statement, "Teachers are the architects of nation-building, and improving their financial benefits is essential for ensuring the quality of education.
"In light of the Supreme Court's order in Civil Review Petition No 124/2022, the salaries of 45 headmasters were upgraded from the 11th grade to the 10th grade."
Following this, the government has deemed it logical to implement the same decision nationwide, it added.
As a result, the salaries of a total of 65,502 headmasters in government primary schools -- currently in the 11th grade (for trained teachers) and 12th grade (for untrained teachers) -- will be upgraded to the 10th grade.
