Govt to allocate e-bikes for postmen for faster service: Faiz Ahmad
Digitisation of postal addresses and geo-location mapping will help better accuracy and tracking, he says

The Department of Posts, in line with the interim government plans, has launched several initiatives to improve the quality of postal services, Chief Adviser's Special Assistant for Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb said today (13 April).
In a social media post, Faiz Ahmad stated that the government will allocate e-bikes for postmen so that they can save time.
He said digitisation of postal addresses and geo-location mapping will help better accuracy and tracking.
Despite having a nationwide network, the postal department struggles in resources utilisation and efficient operations that lets people prefer private courier services.
For better utilisation of its nationwide distribution networks, the CA's special assistant said the government has moved for partnership with the private courier and parcel service providers.
This collaboration aims to strengthen both urban and rural distribution networks within the country, leveraging the government's extensive rural reach and the private companies' urban dominance, he added.
"The combined network is expected to enhance the country's overall parcel delivery infrastructure," said Faiz Ahmad.
He also shared his plans to use the postal department's logistics network for efficient distribution of mangoes in the upcoming season.
