Government moves to seek Interpol Red Notices against TNZ Group, Dird Group, Roar Fashion owners

The government has initiated the process of issuing Red Notices through Interpol against the owners of three garment factories - TNZ Group, Dird Group, and Roar Fashion Ltd - over allegations of negligence in paying workers' dues and their prolonged stay abroad.
The accused are Shahadat Hossain Shamim, managing director of TNZ Group; Ittemad Ud Daulah, chairman, and Nabil Ud Daulah, managing director of Dird Group; and Mamunul Islam, managing director of Roar Fashion Ltd, according to a statement issued by the CA's Press Wing.
The initiative follows cases filed at the Labour Court, Gazipur, and the First and Third Labour Courts in Dhaka under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Labour Adviser Brig Gen (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain said, "We are determined to protect the rights of the workers. We will be strict with those who do injustice to the workers. The cases against the accused for violating labour rights and related legal charges are ongoing. The government has taken this initiative to bring the accused back to the country and pay the workers' outstanding wages and benefits."
In response to the ministry's request, the Police Headquarters sent a letter signed by the additional inspector general (NCB) to Interpol authorities seeking the issuance of the Red Notices.
Chief Adviser's Envoy for International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi said, "Uncooperative or negligent behaviour toward the rightful claims of workers by factory owners will not be tolerated. There must be consequences for such activities. I thank the labour adviser for his firm action."
