Gold prices increase again
Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (Bajus), at its executive meeting, raised the gold price on Wednesday
Gold prices have again been increased one day after the last enhancement.
Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (Bajus), at its executive meeting, raised the gold price on Wednesday by Tk1,166 per bhori (1 bhori = 11.664 grams) and Tk233 per bhori of silver.
The new prices will come into effect from Thursday, said a press release of the association.

After the new rates apply, customers will have to cost additionally Tk1,166 to Tk2,333 depending on the quality of the precious yellow metal.
The uptrend of gold prices in the international market has been said in the release to be the reason of the price increase in the domestic bullion market.
According to the new price lists, per bhori of 22-carat gold will sell at Tk55,696, up from Tk54,529 on Tuesday.
A bhori of 21-carat gold will sell at Tk53,363, up by Tk1,167, while 18-carat gold will sell at Tk48,347, up by Tk1,166.
Bajus, however, kept the price of traditional gold the same as earlier – Tk27,994.
Silver, on the other hand, can be purchased at Tk1,166 per bhori, which was selling at Tk933 for a long time.
Till now, the Bajus has raised gold prices three times to Tk5,890 a bhori after June 20 this year.
