Gazipur police chief will be show-caused over road closure for his personal movement: Home adviser
The notice would be issued and the inspector general of police would take the necessary action, said home adviser

Home Affairs Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that a show-cause notice will be served to Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Md Nazmul Karim Khan, for allegedly causing public suffering by blocking roads for his daily commute between Dhaka and Gazipur.
The notice would be issued and the inspector general of police (IGP) would take the necessary action, said the adviser today (25 August) at a press briefing at the secretariat following a meeting on law and order.
He added that the commissioner's practice of blocking roads for his travel has been a source of public nuisance.
According to media reports, the GMP commissioner, who lives in the capital's Gulshan, travels to Gazipur daily. During his commute, the flyover at Tongi's College Gate area is made one-way, blocking traffic from Gazipur to Dhaka.
A similar measure is taken on the flyover in the Bhogra area during his return trip to Dhaka, stopping vehicles heading toward Gazipur and causing significant inconvenience to commuters.
Nazmul was appointed as the GMP commissioner on 11 November last year and became the president of the Bangladesh Police Service Association on 1 May this year.
