Two Ctg NCP leaders issued show-cause notices for breaching party discipline
Two separate notices were issued yesterday (20 June) by the office cell of the NCP's Central Convening Committee to Chattogram Metropolitan Convening Committee Convener Mir Mohammad Shoaib and Member Secretary Arif Muinuddin.
The National Citizen Party has issued show-cause notices to two of its leaders in Chattogram for breach of discipline by taking a public stance on a matter currently under investigation by the party's central disciplinary committee.
Two separate notices were issued yesterday (20 June) by the office cell of the NCP's Central Convening Committee to Chattogram Metropolitan Convening Committee Convener Mir Mohammad Shoaib and Member Secretary Arif Muinuddin.
Both were instructed to submit written explanations to the head of the central disciplinary committee within 24 hours.
According to the notices, a complaint against NCP Chattogram Divisional Organising Secretary ASM Sujauddin was submitted to the party's central disciplinary committee on 18 June.
On the same day, a three-member investigation and disciplinary committee was formed on the instructions of the party's central convener and member secretary. The matter remains under investigation.
The notice sent to Arif alleged that he took a position on the matter before any organisational decision had been made by issuing a press release on behalf of Chattogram Metropolitan NCP and through a Facebook status.
It also accused him of attacking the complainant in "highly offensive language" on social media.
Shoaib was accused of taking a similar position through a press release issued on the Chattogram Metropolitan NCP letterhead before any organisational decision had been taken.
The notices said such actions were contrary to party discipline.
