Fuel prices cut by Tk2 per litre for January
With the reduction, the price of diesel has been fixed at Tk102 per litre, octane at Tk122, petrol at Tk118 and kerosene at Tk114 for January
The interim government has reduced the prices of diesel, octane, petrol, and kerosene by Tk2 per litre each for January.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Division (EMRD) issued a gazette notification late last night (31 December), announcing the price cut, which came into effect from midnight.
With the reduction, the new price of diesel has been fixed at Tk102 per litre, octane at Tk122, petrol at Tk118, and kerosene at Tk114 for January.
The government adjusts retail fuel prices every month through an automatic pricing mechanism to align domestic prices with fluctuations in the global market.
Previously, on 30 November, the energy and mineral resources division last announced fuel prices, fixing diesel at Tk104 per litre, kerosene at Tk116, octane at Tk124, and petrol at Tk120.
According to the EMRD, the latest price cut has been made in line with the "Automatic Fuel Pricing Guideline (Revised)".
