Fishing trawler capsizes in Kutubdia; 2 dead, 8 rescued
The missing fisherman is 12-year-old Md Faisal, son of Mahmudul Karim from Amjakhali area of Borghop Union.
Two fishermen have died and eight others were rescued after a fishing trawler sank in the sea off Kutubdia island in Cox's Bazar this morning (9 January), while one remains missing.
The incident occurred around 3am near the Kutubdia coast, confirmed Kutubdia police station officer-in-charge Md Mahbubul Haq.
The deceased are trawler captain Ehesan, 25, and Abdul Motaleb. OC Mahbubul said legal action is being taken regarding the incident

According to eyewitnesses, the fishermen were fishing on a trawler owned by Md Kamal when it suddenly sank. Eight fishermen were rescued by another trawler, but three went missing.
Local fishermen and relatives searched the area and recovered the bodies of two fishermen floating in the sea early Friday. The search for the missing boy continues.
The owner of the trawler Md Kamal said the vessel regularly goes fishing and he is unsure why it sank.
