Fire guts power car of moving train in Gazipur
Fire service personnel rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control

A fire broke out in the power car of the Jamalpur-bound Mohua Express near Satkhamair railway station in Sreepur of Gazipur this morning (3 April).
The train was brought to a halt near Satkhamair station after the fire started while it was moving.
Fire service personnel rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control. No casualties were reported. However, train services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway route remained suspended following the incident.
Abul Khayer, station master of Joydebpur railway station in Gazipur, told TBS, "The train departed from Dhaka for Jamalpur this morning. Around 9:30am, it passed Joydebpur Railway Station and continued along the Dhaka-Mymensingh rail route. Shortly after crossing Sreepur Railway Station, the fire broke out in the power car near Satkhamair station."
Rezaul Karim, an on-duty firefighter from Sreepur Fire Service, said upon receiving the report of the fire, two units were dispatched to the scene.
Sreepur Upazila Executive Officer Barrister Sajib Ahmed said, "The train was stopped near Satkhamair station immediately after the fire broke out. Fire service personnel responded swiftly and brought the fire under control. Since no passengers stayed in the power car, the fire did not spread elsewhere, and there were no casualties."
Officials said the firefighters brought the fire under control at about 12:15pm and the train service resumed at about 1pm.
