Fire erupts in Mohakhali’s Sattola slum, quickly brought under control

A fire broke out in the Sattola slum in Mohakhali, Dhaka, today (20 August) afternoon.
Fire crews arrived on the scene by 3:00pm.
Eight units were dispatched from Tejgaon Fire Station, three of which reached the site promptly.

Additional support came from three more units from Tejgaon and two from Kurmitola Fire Station.
The teams worked swiftly to contain the blaze, which was brought under control by 3:18pm.
The extent of the damage is yet to be fully assessed and officials are expected to release further details shortly.
