Fire engulfs Karnaphuli EPZ factory in Ctg

A fire broke out at a garment accessories factory in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone located in the Patenga area of Chattogram this afternoon (11 July).
A total of eight firefighting units took part in the extinguishing operation and brought the fire under control around 4:10pm, according to fire service officials.
The fire started at a factory named Zant Accessories at around 2:55pm.

No casualties have been reported so far, fire service officials said.
Anwar Hossain, assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence, told The Business Standard that firefighters are now working to fully extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage can only be determined after an investigation, he added.
