Final list of Freedom Fighters on 26 March
The government will release the final list of Freedom Fighters on 26 March, says Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque.
He came up with the remark at the inaugural ceremony of a newly constructed school building in Gazipur City Corporation area on Saturday.
"The initial list will be released on the first week of February, stipulating a 30-day period to raise objection. If there is no objection, we will release the draft list by 28 February. Later on 26 March, we will publish the final list," Minister Mozammel said.

He further said, "If someone's name is excluded mistakenly and he brings it to our notice, we will correct it."
Currently, a total of 2,01,461 freedom fighters get honorarium from the government. But 2,51,285 more people claim themselves as freedom fighters.
The minister had earlier said the number of genuine freedom fighters will not be more than 2,10,000.
