A motorcyclist and his daughter were killed in a road accident on the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Expressway in Munshiganj's Sreenagar on Wednesday.

The victims were identified as Kamal Hossain, 30, and his 10-year-old daughter Mahira Mahi, residents of the Ramzan Kathi area of Barishal.

According to police and locals, the motorcycle was hit from behind by an unidentified bus near the Hasara Bridge area around 2pm. The father and daughter were thrown from the motorcycle and died on the spot.

Fire service personnel recovered the bodies upon being informed and handed them over to Hasara highway police.

Kanchan Kumar Singh, Hasara police station officer-in-charge, told The Business Standard that efforts are on to identify the vehicle that hit the motorbike.
