Father, daughter killed, 4 injured in Mirsarai road crash
Police said that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving, leading to the accident

A man and his three-year-old daughter were killed when an SUV rammed into a parked covered van, leaving four others injured on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram this morning (12 September).
The accident took place around 7:30am in the Takurdighi Bazar area, confirmed police and fire service officials.
The deceased were identified as Golam Sarwar, 43, and his daughter Muskan, 3.
Sub-Inspector Borhan Uddin of Jorarganj Highway Police said both vehicles have been seized.
Police said that the driver may have fallen asleep while driving, leading to the accident.
"The black SUV heading towards Cox's Bazar lost control and hit the covered van parked on the roadside. The vehicle was badly mangled in the collision, killing two people on the spot," said Sahlanjo Marma, team leader of Mirsarai Fire Station.
Sarwar's wife Salma, their son Imtiaz, his colleague Sagar, and the driver Gias Uddin, were also injured in the crash.
Locals took the injured to Mirsarai Upazila Health Complex.
Duty doctor Raju Singh said Gias Uddin and Sagar were in critical condition and were later referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, while Umme Salma and Imtiaz were kept under treatment at the health complex.
