Ex-FBCCI president Mintoo receives 'Top Agri-Food Pioneer 2025' award for contributions to sustainable agriculture
The United States-based World Food Prize Foundation confers this honour on individuals who have achieved exceptional accomplishments in improving global food security, quality, quantity, and availability.
Abdul Awal Mintoo, former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), founder of Lal Teer Seed Ltd and Lal Teer Livestock Development Ltd, has been honoured with the Top Agri-Food Pioneer (TAP) 2025 award yesterday (22 October) in recognition of his decades-long innovative contributions to food security and sustainable agricultural development.
The award was announced during the annual Borlaug Dialogue at the State Capitol in Des Moines in Washington, DC, jointly with the US State Department by the World Food Prize Foundation.

Lal Teer Seed Ltd and Lal Teer Livestock Ltd are part of the Multimode Group, established by Mintoo in 1981. He currently serves as the chairman of the group.
At present, Lal Teer supplies nearly 20% of Bangladesh's total seed demand. The company also exports high-quality seeds to Europe, North America, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
