The well-marked low over South Andaman Sea and adjoining area persisted over the same region and is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
Besides, another low-pressure area has formed over the southwest Bay and adjoining Sri Lanka coast and is likely to intensify further, it said.
A Ridge of the Sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and the adjoining area.
