Mild heat wave sweeping in parts of country
The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna and Sirajganj, and it may spread.
Day temperature may rise slightly, and night temperature may rise by (1-2)°C over the country, said a bulletin of BMD for the next 24 hours commencing from 9am today (13 April).
It said the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
It also forecasts that rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The country's maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jashore yesterday, and today's minimum temperature is 19 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat in Rangpur division.
The sun sets at 6.19 pm today and rises at 5.39 am tomorrow (14 April) in Dhaka.
