Draft master plan for Saint Martin's Island released, env ministry seeks public input

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has released the draft Master Plan for Saint Martin's Island, seeking public feedback on measures to regulate unplanned tourism, protect the island's fragile environment, and ensure its sustainable management.
The draft has been published today (24 November) on the ministry's website notice board for public access, according to a press release signed by Dipankar Bar, public relations officer of the ministry.
All ministries, departments, agencies, stakeholders, and members of the public have been asked to submit written feedback to the email env3@moefcc.gov.bd, the release added.
The ministry has invited comments on the draft Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Directive for Plastic Waste Management, 2025.
The release further stated that the ministry is expecting constructive input from all stakeholders to finalise an effective plan to protect Saint Martin's Island, an environmentally sensitive and nationally significant coastal resource, and to strengthen the country's response to plastic waste management challenges.
The last date of submitting feedback is 20 December.
