A total of 17,352 people have completed registration on the website after calling for registration for 'Citizen Services Bangladesh', an initiative of the Office of the Chief Adviser to deliver all citizen services at one platform.

Foyez Ahmed Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, revealed it at the inauguration ceremony of a four-day training programme organized for selected 60 entrepreneurs from Dhaka district at the initial stage at the Post Office in city's Agargaon today (17 May) to develop skills of entrepreneurs in implementing 'Citizen Service Bangladesh'.

He said that in addition to adding all possible security measures to protect the information of citizens and agents on the website, the necessary APIs for integration with other systems have been created and provided.

He said the work is underway to add the necessary features to the profile updates of entrepreneurs.

Regarding the progress of the mobile app for citizen services, the special assistant said, "The API for connection with the mobile app has been completed. The design of the mobile app has been discussed with the developer team and the goals and objectives of the citizen services app have been explained. Accordingly, they have started the development activities of the mobile app".

About the progress of API integration, Taiyeb said that several meetings and workshops have been held with the relevant departments (such as the Office of the Registrar General, Bangladesh Election Commission, Ministry of Land, Department of Immigration and Passports and Bangladesh Police - Online GD) at the management, technical and related vendor levels for the purpose of integration with citizen services and other systems through API.

Besides, he said, integration activities are ongoing through API to provide MyGov services through the citizen service platform. Most of the service integration plans have been taken by next week, he added.

Based on all these meetings and workshops, letters have been sent to the relevant departments to connect with citizen services through API integration, he said.

Taiyab said the civic service entrepreneur training will be held in a total of four working days. Out of 60 participants, 22 are women, he added.

He said there are 12 hands-on training sessions and there are 14 external trainers. As part of the training, a one-day hands-on/field visit will be conducted, he said.

At the end of this four-day training, the special assistant said, a written test will be taken to evaluate the knowledge acquired by the participants and certificates will be given to those who successfully complete the course.

It is mentionable that the government has launched a unified digital platform named 'Nagorik Sheba Bangladesh' in short 'Nagorik Sheba' (Citizen Service), aimed at delivering a wide range of government services through a single online gateway, with physical service points operated by local entrepreneurs across the country.
