The BERC announced the price of jet fuel for the first time in May 2025 and said that jet fuel price would be adjusted with the international market every month.
"If the price in the international market increases, it will be increased in Bangladesh, and if it decreases, it will be decreased in local market.
Earlier, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) usually fixes the price from time to time," according to a BERC official.
The regulatory agency said considering the Platts Rate from April 5 to May 4 on an average, it reduced the jet fuel price for May 2026.
The BERC held a public hearing today in accordance with Sections 22 (Kha) and 34 of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.
