Elephant attack: Pregnant woman killed in Chakaria, her four children unharmed
A pregnant woman was killed reportedly in an attack by wild elephants in Chakaria, Cox's Bazar.
The deceased Ismat Ara Begum, 35, was the wife of Md Alamgir of the area.
The elephants did not harm her four young children, who were with her at the time.

The incident occurred around 9:30pm yesterday (23 June) in Chairakhali area of ward 9 under Fashiakhali Union, said Shah Alam, former UP member of the same ward.
He stated that a herd of wild elephants, including a calf, entered the Chairakhali area.
"Ismat Ara's pet dog tried to attack the elephant calf, which enraged one of the elephants. It broke through the roof of her hut, entered, and killed Ismat Ara by striking her with its trunk," he said.
"Her four children were beside her during the incident but were unharmed. At the time, her husband was at the local market," he added.
Meheraj Uddin, range officer of the Fashiakhali Range under the Cox's Bazar North Forest Division, said they visited the site this morning.
"The deceased had been living in a makeshift hut inside the reserve forest, which is known to be an elephant corridor," he said.
Chakaria Upazila Nirbahi Officer Atikur Rahman stated that the victim's family will receive assistance from the Upazila Parishad.
