Eid-ul-Adha celebrated amid festive spirit across Chattogram

Eid-ul-Adha, one of the largest religious festivals of Muslims, is being celebrated with religious fervour and festivity in Chattogram on Saturday.

Thousands of worshippers gathered at the venue from the early hours, creating a solemn yet joyous atmosphere. After the prayers, the Khatib delivered the Eid Khutba and offered special prayers seeking peace, prosperity of the country, and welfare of the Muslim Ummah. Devotees exchanged greetings and embraced each other to share the joy of Eid.
BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury also offered Eid prayers along with party leaders and activists at Darus Salam Jame Mosque in the North Kattoli area. Wishing Eid Mubarak to people from all political affiliations, he said, "Through the spirit of sacrifice in Qurbani, we should strive to purify ourselves."
He urged his fellow party members to forget differences and remain united in building a new Bangladesh.
Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury, BNP leader Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin, BNP's national committee leader and President of the Jatiyatabadi Pat Shramik Dal, Saeed Al Noman, along with political and business leaders and hundreds of devout Muslims, joined the prayers at the Jamiatul Falah Mosque. They also exchanged Eid greetings after the prayers.
Arrangements were made to accommodate around 40,000 devotees at the venue, which was equipped with 142 ceiling fans, 70 stand fans, and drinking water facilities. Members of law enforcement agencies were deployed, and the venue was under CCTV surveillance to ensure security.
The Chattogram City Corporation organised Eid congregations in various parts of the city. For the first time, an Eid jamaat was held at the field beside Nasimon Bhaban near the Biman Office in Kazir Dewri at 7am.
Notable other venues included the Chattogram City Corporation Shahi Jame Mosque beside Laldighi, Hazrat Sheikh Farid (R) Chashma Eidgah Mosque, Sugandha Residential Area Jame Mosque, Chawk Bazar CC Jame Mosque, Zahur Hawkers' Market Jame Mosque, VIP Residential Area Jame Mosque in South Khulshi, Arefin Nagar Central Graveyard Jame Mosque, Sagarika Cattle Market Jame Mosque, and Maa Ayesha Siddiqua CCC Jame Mosque in Sagarika.
Besides, Eid congregations were also held at local mosques and Eidgahs in various wards and neighborhoods across the city.
Meanwhile, another major Eid congregation was held at the Gymnasium Ground in the city at 8am under the arrangements of the Chattogram Central Eid Jamaat Committee and the district administration.
