Satkhira Polytechnic teachers on work abstention, students blocked road

Teachers of Satkhira Polytechnic are on work abstention protesting against the reduction of salary in second shift and demanding their arrears salary of nineteenth months. 

In accordance with the programme announced by the Central Teachers' Union, the teachers started their abstention from 10 am on Tuesday. 
 
The Principal of Satkhira Polytechnic Institute College, Maksudur Rahman, said, "If our demands are not met, then we will stay in strike from Wednesday and there will be more programmes in protest." 

On the other hand, the students of the institute blocked the Satkhira-Jashore highway for three hours in demand of their teachers to return to classes. "We respect their demands but if they will not take our classes, our studies will get hampered."
 
Among others, Osman Gani, Borhan Mandal, Sohan Hossain, Rakib Kabir spoke at the protest rally of the students.
