Khulna University students stage protest over assault on a teacher
During the protest, they declared Abdullah Noman persona non grata on campus for life and demanded swift punitive action against him

Students of Khulna University staged a demonstration last night (2 May) as a teacher was physically assaulted allegedly by a former student on the campus.
Witnesses said Hasan Mahmud Saky, a lecturer of History and Civilization Discipline of the university and also the assistant student affairs director, was assaulted allegedly by Abdullah Noman, a former student of the university under 2018 batch, in front of the academic building of the university around 10pm on Friday.
Later, he was taken to Khulna Medical College and Hospital.
The reason behind the attack could not be known yet.
During the protest, they declared Abdullah Noman persona non grata on campus for life and demanded swift punitive action against him.
Khulna University Vice Chancellor Professor Md Rezaul Karim denounced the attack.
The VC said "I am speechless. Attacking a teacher is a vile and disgraceful act—completely unthinkable. In the 35-year history at Khulna University, no such heinous incident has ever occurred."
"An attack on one teacher is an attack on the entire academic community. The university administration will do everything to ensure the attacker faces appropriate punishment."
