Dhaka College teachers demand relocation of City College to 'avoid conflict'
They also called for immediate action against those responsible for the violence
Following clashes between the students of Dhaka College and Dhaka City College, teachers at Dhaka College have called for the relocation of City College to prevent future conflicts.
AKM Rafiqul Islam, general secretary of Dhaka College Teachers' Council, made the demand during a press briefing at the college auditorium this evening (20 November).
In the written statement, Rafiqul Islam said more than 150 students and a teacher were injured in the clash.

He demanded proper medical treatment for the injured and called for immediate action against those responsible for the violence.
"The teachers of City College directly involved in the incident should face legal action. Additionally, the home affairs adviser should visit the campus to conduct a thorough investigation," he added.
He claimed that the attack was part of a plan to disrupt the 184th foundation anniversary of Dhaka College and undermine the current government.
He also alleged that City College and the police were directly involved in inciting the violence.
The teachers demanded strict security measures for Dhaka College campus and urged authorities to address their demands within 24 hours to restore a peaceful learning environment at the college.
Earlier in the day, clashes ensued between the two groups of students since noon with chase and counter-chase. Police fired teargas shells and sound grenades to stop clashes.
Students of the colleges had previously clashed in October, prompting City College authorities to announce a closure for 20 days.
The college reopened yesterday, according to a statement signed by City College Principal (acting) Prof Kazi Neyamul Haque.
