The protesting teachers and students of Jahangirnagar University have announced to organise a concert in front of the residence of Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam at evening today.

Najir Amin Chowdhury Joy, president of Bangladesh Chhatra Union, JU unit, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

Earlier today, a procession of more than 200 protestors paraded different roads on the campus today to press their demand.

A large contingent of police are still deployed in the area.

Jahangirnagar University campus, that was abuzz with students just a day before, was almost deserted on Wednesday following the shut-down of the university and an order to vacate all dormitories in the wake of protests. However, the protestors vowed to continue their protest.
