EC resumes NID correction services
Service resumes after OCV and ICPV processes completed
The Election Commission (EC) has resumed National Identity Card (NID) correction services from today (25 January).
"Our voter list has been completed. We have returned to normal operations. Applications for corrections under all categories can now be submitted," Director General of the NID Wing (Additional Secretary) ASM Humayun Kabir told BSS.
Referring to NID correction as a year-round ongoing process, he said, "We had kept it suspended, but now it has been reopened. The commission has withdrawn its directive to suspend the NID correction services."
"We had concerns regarding Overseas Citizen Voter/Voting (OCV) and In-Country Postal Voter/Voting (ICPV) process. That is why the NID correction service remained suspended during that period. Now the OCV and ICPV processes have been completed. Our election candidacy process is complete, and the voter list is now finalised. We must now return to our regular work," Kabir added.
