The Election Commission (EC) will hold a meeting with all deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) across the country on 23 December to review election preparedness and ensure law and order for the smooth conduct of the 13th national parliamentary election and the referendum.
According to a letter signed by EC Deputy Secretary Md Manir Hossain today (21 December), the directive meeting will begin at 10am and focus on overall election preparedness, enforcement of the electoral code of conduct, and ensuring law and order and security during the polls.
The meeting will be attended by the chief election commissioner, four election commissioners, and the senior secretary of the EC Secretariat, it said.
Earlier in the day, the Election Commission also held a meeting with the chiefs of the armed forces as part of its broader coordination efforts ahead of the election.
The EC had initially scheduled the meeting with DCs and SPs for 24 December, but later rescheduled it to 23 December.
