Ducsu election: Panels announced so far
To date, Chhatra Dal, BGCS, leftist student organisations, Islami Chhatra Shibir, and others have submitted their candidate lists for the polls.

The Dhaka University campus is abuzz ahead of the central students' union (Ducsu) elections, with several student organisations and alliances having already unveiled their full panels. Students are now actively discussing who has made it onto these slates.
To date, Chhatra Dal, Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Sangsad (BGCS), leftist student organisations, Islami Chhatra Shibir, and others have submitted their candidate lists for the polls. Several independent panels have also declared their participation, indicating fierce competition across almost all Ducsu posts.
Here's a look at the finalised panels so far:
Boishomyobirodhi Shikkharthi Songshad (Anti-Discrimination Student Council)
Backed by the Democratic Students' Alliance (BGCS), this panel fields Abdul Kader, convener of BGCS' DU unit, for VP, central member-secretary Abu Bakar Mojumdar for GS, and central spokesperson Ashrefa Khatun for AGS.
Chhatra Dal panel
BNP's student wing has nominated DU Chhatra Dal joint general secretary Md Abidul Islam Khan for VP, Poet Jasimuddin Hall convener Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim for GS, and Bijoy Ekattor Hall convener Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed for AGS.
Chhatra Dal has also formed committees in 18 DU residential halls ahead of the polls.
Oikyoboddho Shikkharthi Jote (United Students' Alliance)
Supported by Islami Chhatra Shibir, this 28-member panel includes former DU Shibir president Md Abu Sadiq (Kayem) for VP, current DU Shibir president SM Farhad for GS, and Mohiuddin Khan for AGS.
Protirodh Porshad (Resistance Council)
The alliance of leftist student organisations, "Democratic Students' Alliance," announced its panel under this name. Former VP of Shamsun Nahar Hall Sheikh Tasnim Afroze Imi will contest for VP, DU Chhatra Union president Meghmollar Basu for GS, and Revolutionary Student Unity general secretary Md Jabir Ahmed Jubel for AGS.
Swatantra Shikkharthi Oikko (Independent Students' Unity)
Formed under former spokesperson of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Umama Fatema, who will contest for VP. The panel is not yet fully announced, though student journalist leader Mohiuddin Mujahid Mahi is expected to run for GS.
Ducsu for Change
Backed by Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, the student wing of Gono Odhikar Parishad, this panel fields central president Bin Yamin Molla for VP.
Shomonnito Shikkharthi Songshad (Combined Students' Union)
This panel nominates Md Jamal Uddin Khalid for VP, expelled NCP leader Mahin Sarkar for GS, and Fateha Sharmin (Annie) for AGS. Sabina Yasmin has also been announced for GS, and Rakibul Islam for AGS.
Shochoton Shikkharthi Songshad (Conscious Students' Union)
The student wing of Islami Andolon Bangladesh was the first to announce a full panel. Former DU president Yasin Arafat will contest for VP, Khairul Ahsan Marzan for GS, and Saif Mohammad Alauddin for AGS.
Oporajeyo 71–Adommo 24 (Invincible '71–Indomitable '24)
This panel is a coalition of a faction of Bangladesh Chhatra Union, Socialist Students' Front, and BCL (Bangladesh Jasad's student wing).
It fields Naim Hasan Hridoy of the Department of Communication Disorders for VP, Enamul Hasan Onoy of Political Science for GS, and Aditi Islam of Philosophy for AGS. Of its 15 announced members, more names are expected later.
Unity to Rebuild
Formed by DU Chhatra Federation, this partial 11-member panel nominates Armanul Hoque for AGS.
Other independents
Additional partial panels, including one led by Md Jubair bin Nessary and Musaddik Ali Ibn Mohammad, have been declared. Many independent candidates are also running for both central and hall-level posts.
Altogether, the Ducsu polls have already energised the campus atmosphere, which is becoming increasingly charged each day. Who will ultimately win and take on the responsibility of representing students will only be known once the votes are counted.
