The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has urged the public to avoid the Gulshan-2 area starting today (26 January) due to service line relocation for the MRT Line-5 Northern Route construction.

In a notification issued on Wednesday (22 January), Project Director Md Aftab Hossain Khan explained that the relocation work, part of efforts to ease traffic congestion and protect the environment, would begin at 8am on Sunday.

"The construction work, which begins today, is expected to continue for approximately three months. This may cause traffic disruptions in the area. To minimise inconvenience, we requested the public to cooperate by planning alternate routes during this period," said Dr Md Moshiur Rahman, additional project director (Civil, Underground) of the Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (Line-5): Northern Route.

DMTCL has advised travellers to allocate extra time and use alternative routes.
