DMP recovers 34 lost phones, returns them to owners

Paltan Model Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has recovered 34 lost mobile phones and handed them over to their rightful owners.
The phones, retrieved from various locations across the country using information technology, were returned at a ceremony held yesterday (15 March) at the police station's conference room.
Assistant Police Commissioner of Motijheel Zone, Hussain Muhammad Farabi, handed over the phones in the presence of Inspector (Investigation) Md Moniruzzaman and other police officials.
According to police sources, the phones were recovered between 7 February and 14 March 2025.
Speaking at the event, Assistant Police Commissioner Farabi said, "People store important information on their mobile phones. So when someone files a General Diary (GD) after losing their phone, we investigate with utmost importance. Although recovering all lost phones is not always possible, we try our best."
Paltan Model Police Station has previously recovered and returned over 100 lost mobile phones through similar efforts.
