Traffic suspended on key Dhaka roads for Independence Day
The day will begin with a ceremonial parade at the National Parade Square in the morning, followed by a courtesy meeting with the president at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
Dhaka is set to host a series of programmes tomorrow (26 March) to mark Independence and National Day, prompting special traffic arrangements across key parts of the capital.
The day will begin with a ceremonial parade at the National Parade Square in the morning, followed by a courtesy meeting with the president at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
The events are expected to be attended by the president, the prime minister, cabinet members, foreign diplomats, senior officials, and leaders of various organisations. In the evening, a concert is scheduled at Manik Mia Avenue.
Traffic around National Parade Square
To manage vehicular movement during the parade, the Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued special directives for several major roads.
The directives were announced in a public notice signed today (25 March) by acting DMP Commissioner Md Sarwar.
The parade at National Parade Square will take place from 10am to 12:30pm. Vehicular movement around the venue will be restricted from 7am to 12:30pm.
