Import and export activities between Bangladesh and India through Benapole land port remained suspended today (15 August)as India observed its Independence Day.
Trade operations were halted from this morning due to the public holiday in India.

Aminul Haque, vice-president of the Benapole Port Importers and Exporters Association, said trading activities were suspended as India observed its Independence Day.
"Import and export operations will resume as usual from Sunday morning," he said.
Saiful Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Benapole Checkpost Immigration Police, said passport-holding passengers continued to cross the border normally.
