At least 14 people were injured in a violent clash over a land dispute in the Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira yesterday (22 April).

According to local sources, Azizul Gazi and Nazrul Gazi had been embroiled in a long-standing dispute over the ownership of four decimals of land. The confrontation escalated into violence across several phases throughout the day.
Dr Snigdha, a physician at the emergency department of Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex, said, "Fourteen patients injured in the violence were admitted here. Due to the severity of their injuries, ten were referred to Satkhira Medical College Hospital, while the remaining four are receiving treatment here."
Khaledur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station, stated that the situation has been brought under control.
"Neither party has filed a written complaint with the police yet. Legal action will be taken once a formal complaint is received," he added.
