Dhaka College vs City College: Clash breaks out for second time today

After a small break, clashes between students of Dhaka College and Dhaka City College ensued again around 2pm.
The clashes began around 11:45am when a group of Dhaka College students attacked Dhaka City College students and vandalised their campus.
The exact cause behind the incident remains unclear, though initial reports suggest it may have stemmed from longstanding enmity between the students of the two institutions.

Police took position at the scene to control the situation. However, students attacked police as well. Though agitators left the place for some time around 1:20pm, they again returned to the spot around 2pm.

Dhaka College students broke the police barricade and threw bricks at City College students. At that time, City College students went inside the college campus. Later, bricks were thrown from both sides. Sound grenades were thrown to control the situation.

Ramna Zone DC Masud Alam claims that 10-15 police officers were injured by brickbats thrown by City College students.
Meanwhile, students claim they were baton charged by the police. One of the students of Dhaka City College said, five-six people including their principal have been admitted to Popular Medical College Hospital.

Sources close to the incident said the confrontation may have been triggered by an incident the previous day in which a Dhaka College student was reportedly beaten by City College students.

News of the altercation quickly spread across several Facebook groups associated with Dhaka College, possibly fuelling today's retaliation.
