Decision on changing RAB uniform, name in next meeting of advisory council committee: Adviser
Law enforcement agencies were having to engage in other activities instead of their main job while listening to the various demands of the people, he also said

The next meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order will decide whether the uniform and the name of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will be changed, Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam said today (18 February).
"A proposal has been sent seeking changes to the name and uniform of the Rapid Action Battalion. A decision on this will be taken in the next meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order," he told reporters after the 7th meeting of the committee.
"If necessary, RAB will be newly formed," he added.
Responding to journalists' questions about the law and order situation in the country, the adviser said, "Teen gangs and robberies have reduced a lot from before. But these have not yet reached a tolerable level."
He also cited the recent attack on an Uttara couple, saying the culprits were arrested immediately.
The adviser said, "Our law enforcement agencies are having to engage in other activities instead of their main job while listening to the various demands of the people. As a result, their strength is decreasing."
He advised protesters to use specific places or Suhrawardy Udyan to voice their demands.
He also said, "No one wants the people to suffer by blocking roads and ghats."
