Chhatra Dal holds sit-in outside EC for second day protesting 'bias' in postal ballot decisions
They said the programme would continue until their demands are met.
Leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal today (19 January) continued their sit-in outside the Election Commission (EC) headquarters for a second consecutive day, over what it described as the commission's biased decisions on postal voting, political involvement in various rulings and other related issues.
They said the programme would continue until their demands are met.
Yesterday, Chhatra Dal activists staged a sit-in in front of the EC headquarters in Agargaon from 11am until around 8pm, observing the same programme.
Before concluding Sunday's programme, Chhatra Dal Central President Rakibul Islam announced that they would again lay siege to the EC headquarters today over the same issues.
As announced earlier, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists began the second day of the EC siege around 11:30am.
Several thousand leaders and activists, including the organisation's central president and general secretary, as well as members from various educational institutions, are taking part in the programme.
